Artvigil 150 Review: Is HAB Pharma's Armodafinil Worth Buying?

· · Fact-checked October 2026 · How we review

Artvigil 150 mg tablet illustration
Artvigil contains 150 mg of armodafinil, HAB Pharma's generic of Nuvigil

Artvigil 150 shows up in almost every "cheapest armodafinil" thread, usually with the same question attached: is the low price a bargain or a warning sign? We read Afinil's Artvigil 150 listing on October 22, 2026, checked its claims against the US Nuvigil (armodafinil) label, and lined it up against the other armodafinil brands on the same store. We haven't lab-tested the tablets, and we'll tell you where the seller's claims don't hold up.

We earn a commission if you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you. That doesn't change what we say about the product.

Artvigil 150 at a glance

  • Active ingredient: armodafinil, 150 mg per tablet.
  • Maker: HAB Pharma, India, per Afinil's product table.
  • Brand it copies: Nuvigil.
  • Afinil price range: $29 for 10 tablets to $899 for 1,000.
  • Regulatory status in the US: not an FDA-approved product; armodafinil is a Schedule IV prescription medicine.
  • Shipping claims: free Express Mail on orders of $180 or more, delivery in 7 to 12 business days, bulk orders over 360 tablets split into several parcels.

What Artvigil actually contains

Armodafinil is the R-form of modafinil. Modafinil is a 50/50 mix of two mirror-image forms, and armodafinil keeps only the longer-lasting one. That's why it's sold at 150 mg rather than 200 mg. The Nuvigil label shows that at steady state, 200 mg of armodafinil gives clearly higher exposure than 200 mg of modafinil, so the milligram numbers don't compare directly.

Artvigil is one of several armodafinil brands made in India for export. The best known is Waklert from Sun Pharma. Afinil also sells its house brand ArmodaXL and a cheaper brand, Armodavinil. They all claim the same active drug at the same strength; what differs is the maker, the price and the track record.

Claims on the product page we couldn't confirm

Afinil's listing makes a few statements we'd push back on:

  1. "This drug has approval from the Food and Drug Administration." Not for Artvigil. The FDA approved Nuvigil and later US generics of armodafinil. An Indian export tablet like Artvigil isn't an FDA-approved product.
  2. "Buy cheap Artvigil 150 mg online OTC." Armodafinil isn't over the counter in the US. It's a Schedule IV prescription medicine.
  3. Weight loss. The page calls weight loss a negative reaction that "overweight people see this effect as a benefit." Weight loss isn't an approved use, and decreased appetite is listed on the Nuvigil label as a side effect, not a benefit. Don't use it for that.
  4. Fake-pill "taste test." The page says fakes can be spotted with a "taste test" or by checking the effects. Neither is a reliable test of authenticity.

The page does get some things right: it says to take the dose in the morning, or about an hour before a shift for shift work disorder, which matches the Nuvigil label.

Artvigil 150 listed price per tablet by pack size
Per-tablet price for Artvigil 150 mg at Afinil, Oct 22 2026

The per-tablet labels are Afinil's own and are rounded; for example, 10 tablets at $29 is really $2.90 each. The big drop comes between 30 and 50 tablets and again at 500.

How it compares with other armodafinil at Afinil

Same store, same day, 100-tablet packs:

  • Artvigil 150: $169.
  • ArmodaXL 150: $199.
  • So Artvigil is $30 cheaper per 100 tablets than Afinil's house brand.

At 1,000 tablets, Artvigil was $899 against $1,099 for ArmodaXL. For Sun Pharma's brand, see our Waklert 150 buying guide, and for the cheapest house option, our Armodavinil 150 mg review.

A made-up example

Say someone with a prescription plans to keep a three-month supply on hand, taking one tablet a day. That's roughly 90 tablets. The 100-tablet pack at $169 covers it with a few spare, and at that size the order clears the $180 free-shipping line only if they add something else. Buying 50 twice would cost $198. That's an example, not advice to stockpile; armodafinil tablets have an expiry date, and very large packs tie up money in stock you may not use.

What the Nuvigil label says about using armodafinil 150

Because Artvigil claims to be the same drug as Nuvigil, the US label is the best guide to what to expect. Key points:

  • Dose: 150 mg or 250 mg once a day in the morning for narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea; 150 mg about one hour before the shift for shift work disorder.
  • No proven gain at 250 mg in sleep apnea: the label says 250 mg showed no consistent extra benefit over 150 mg.
  • Timing: peak levels about 2 hours after a fasting dose; food can delay that by 2 to 4 hours.
  • Duration: half-life about 15 hours.
  • Not a replacement for sleep.

For more on timing, see our Waklert vs generic Nuvigil comparison. If you're wondering about the higher strength, our Artvigil 250 mg review covers it.

What users tend to report

Afinil shows 15 reviews on the product page, collected through Yotpo. Seller-hosted reviews are selected and moderated by the seller, so we treat them as a rough signal only. The themes that come up about armodafinil brands in general are long duration, trouble sleeping when taken late, and headaches. Headache is the most common side effect on the Nuvigil label, reported by 17% of people on armodafinil against 9% on placebo.

Artvigil 150 vs Waklert 150

This is the comparison most buyers are making:

  • Same drug, same strength: both are armodafinil 150 mg.
  • Maker: Waklert comes from Sun Pharma, a large listed Indian drug company with a long export history. Artvigil comes from HAB Pharma, a smaller name.
  • Price: Artvigil is usually cheaper.
  • Evidence: neither has published US bioequivalence data, because neither is sold as an FDA-approved US product.

Ordering, payment and shipping

Afinil's Artvigil page lists card, PayPal and Bitcoin payment, a 30-day guarantee, and same-day dispatch on orders placed by 5 PM Pacific. Express Mail shipping is free on orders of $180 or more, with delivery estimated at 7 to 12 business days. Orders above 360 tablets are split into several packages. Afinil also offers free samples, which our free samples review explains. We can't confirm how the guarantee works for a parcel stopped at the border, so read the terms before ordering.

Legal status in the US

Armodafinil is a Schedule IV controlled substance in the US. Buying it with a prescription from a licensed pharmacy is legal, and FDA-approved generic armodafinil is available. Ordering Artvigil from an export vendor without a prescription isn't a legal route, and customs can seize the parcel. Read our legal notes and talk to a prescriber first.

Safety

Armodafinil can cause headache, nausea, dizziness and trouble sleeping. Stop and get urgent help for any rash, blisters, mouth sores, swelling, chest pain or sudden mood changes, which can signal rare but serious reactions. It can make hormonal birth control less effective during use and for a month after stopping. Tell your doctor and pharmacist about every medicine you take. See our medical disclaimer.

Who Artvigil 150 suits, and who it doesn't

A reasonable fit if: you already know armodafinil suits you, your prescriber is on board, and price per tablet matters more to you than a big-name maker.

Not a good fit if: you've never taken armodafinil, you want an FDA-approved product, you have a sensitive sleep schedule, or you're hoping for weight loss or a substitute for sleep.

Verdict

Artvigil 150 is HAB Pharma's armodafinil 150 mg, a generic copy of Nuvigil, and at Afinil it's one of the cheaper armodafinil brands: $169 per 100 tablets on October 22, 2026, against $199 for ArmodaXL. The drug and dose match the Nuvigil label's standard 150 mg, so expect a long-lasting effect that can disturb sleep if taken late. Ignore the product page's "FDA approved," "OTC" and weight-loss claims; they aren't accurate. In the US, armodafinil needs a prescription, and that's the safest route.
