Armodavinil 150 mg Review: Centurion's Armodafinil Generic
Armodavinil is the less-famous cousin of Waklert and Artvigil. It's made by Centurion Laboratories, according to Afinil, and paired with Centurion's modafinil, Modavinil. Here's what you need to know.
The basics
- Active ingredient: armodafinil 150 mg.
- Maker: Centurion Laboratories (per Afinil).
- Generic of: Nuvigil.
- Sibling: Modavinil 200 mg.
- Combo: Modavinil + Armodavinil premium pack at Afinil.
How it compares
| Armodavinil | Waklert | Artvigil | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dose | 150 mg | 150 mg | 150 mg |
| Maker | Centurion | Sun Pharma | HAB Pharma |
| User history | Smaller | Largest | Large |
| Price | Check live | Mid | Lower |
Pharmacologically they're the same: 150 mg of armodafinil, the longer-acting R-isomer of modafinil. Differences between them come down to maker reputation, price, and individual response.
What users report
There are fewer reviews of Armodavinil than of Waklert or Artvigil. The reports we've seen describe a typical armodafinil experience: steady, long, mild. That's anecdote, not data.
Dosing and timing
The Nuvigil label puts armodafinil at 150-250 mg once daily, in the morning for narcolepsy or OSA, or about an hour before a shift for shift work disorder. Because it lasts a long time, morning dosing matters.
Made-up example: a 6am dose wears off enough for sleep by 11pm for many people, while a noon dose might not.
Side effects
Headache, nausea, dizziness and insomnia are most common. Rare and serious: rash (stop immediately), psychiatric effects, chest pain. Reduced hormonal contraceptive effect during use and for a month after. See our medical disclaimer.
Who it suits
- People who like Centurion's Modavinil and want its armodafinil partner.
- Buyers wanting the premium pack with both.
- Anyone happy to try a less-reviewed brand.
If you want the most-tested option, Waklert or Artvigil make more sense. See Artvigil vs Waklert.
Legal
Schedule IV in the US, so it needs a valid prescription from a licensed US prescriber. See legal notes.
Centurion Laboratories: what we know
Centurion is a smaller Indian manufacturer than Sun Pharma or HAB Pharma, and its products appear at fewer vendors. That isn't a quality judgment either way; it just means there's less independent experience to lean on. Afinil groups Modavinil and Armodavinil into a "premium pack" and calls them Centurion products. We couldn't find independent testing of either, which is typical for grey-market generics; very few are ever lab-tested publicly.
If you care about maker size above all, Waklert's maker, Sun Pharma, is the heavyweight. If you care about price, Artvigil and ArmodaXL usually win. Armodavinil sits in between: a reasonable option if it's in stock and priced well on the day.
Armodavinil vs Modavinil: which half of the pack?
| Modavinil | Armodavinil | |
|---|---|---|
| Drug | Modafinil | Armodafinil |
| Dose | 200 mg | 150 mg |
| Duration | Long | Longer |
| Feel reported | More "lift" early | Flatter, steadier |
| Sleep risk if late | Moderate | Higher |
Most people who buy the premium pack end up preferring one over the other. There's no universal winner; it depends on your schedule. Shift workers with late starts sometimes prefer the shorter one so they can sleep after the shift. People with long office days sometimes prefer armodafinil's longer tail. Discuss with your doctor.
Checking your pills when they arrive
Every grey-market purchase should end with a quick check:
- Brand and strength printed on the strip: "Armodavinil 150."
- Batch number and expiry date clearly printed.
- Sealed blister with no tampering.
- Leaflet if included.
- Anything odd (misspellings, missing expiry, broken seals): contact Afinil before taking it.
How Armodavinil ships
Same options as everything else at Afinil: EMS, which Afinil says takes 7-12 business days to the US ($49, free over $180), or Registered Airmail at 10-18 days ($39, free over $130). Tracking arrives within 24-72 hours. Singapore parcels may show no updates until they reach your country. Bulk orders are split into parcels 3-5 days apart. We didn't see a domestic US listing for Armodavinil, so US buyers who want speed may prefer Waklert or ArmodaXL domestic options.
Paying for it
Afinil takes Bitcoin (with an advertised 24% discount), Visa and Mastercard. Card payments run through processors in China or Europe, may carry an FX fee of up to 5%, and show a different merchant name on your statement. Don't file a chargeback without talking to support first; Afinil says chargebacks lose you your account. More in our Bitcoin payment guide.
Common questions we get about this brand
"I can't find Armodavinil reviews, is it fake?" Lack of reviews just means fewer people buy it. It doesn't prove anything either way.
"Is it weaker because it's cheaper?" Price reflects the maker and the vendor's margins, not the dose. A 150 mg tablet is labeled 150 mg.
"Can I take it with Modavinil?" Not on the same day. They're the same family of drug; doubling up just means a higher dose.
"Should I start with Armodavinil if I've never had either?" Many people start with modafinil because it's shorter. Talk to a doctor.
Who shouldn't take armodafinil at all
The Nuvigil label lists people who shouldn't take it: anyone with a known hypersensitivity to modafinil or armodafinil. It also urges caution in people with a history of heart problems such as left ventricular hypertrophy or mitral valve prolapse with chest pain, people with psychiatric history (psychosis, depression, mania), and those with severe liver problems, for whom a lower dose may be needed. Older adults may also need a lower dose. These aren't brand-specific; they apply to Armodavinil the same as Nuvigil.
If any of that applies to you, this isn't a "try it and see" product. Speak to a doctor first.
A realistic first week (made-up example)
To show what tracking looks like, here's a completely made-up log:
| Day | Dose time | Focus (1-5) | Side effects | Sleep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon | 7:00 | 4 | Mild headache | 6.5 h |
| Wed | 7:00 | 4 | None | 7 h |
| Fri | 9:30 | 4 | None | 5 h |
The lesson in that fake log: the late Friday dose cost an hour and a half of sleep. That's the pattern to watch for with any armodafinil, Armodavinil included.
Storage
Keep tablets in the original blister, in a cool, dry place, away from kids. Check the expiry on the strip; don't use them past it.
Our scoring
We score generics on five things. For Armodavinil: dose accuracy claims (150 mg, standard), maker reputation (smaller name, moderate), user history (limited), price (check live, often competitive), and availability (usually in stock at Afinil, no domestic US listing seen). That works out to a solid but not standout option. It's a fine buy if you're already a Centurion fan, and not the one we'd pick for a first armodafinil.
Verdict
Armodavinil is a standard 150 mg armodafinil from a smaller-name maker. Nothing wrong with it, just less history than Waklert or Artvigil. Good if you're already in the Centurion lineup.
FAQ
Who makes Armodavinil?
Centurion Laboratories, per Afinil, which also makes Modavinil.
Is Armodavinil as good as Waklert?
Same 150 mg armodafinil. Waklert has a far larger user history; Armodavinil reports are fewer. No head-to-head data exists.
Is there a combo pack?
Afinil sells a Modavinil + Armodavinil premium pack from Centurion.
How long does Armodavinil last?
Like all armodafinil, it's long-acting. Dose early to protect sleep.
Can I buy Armodavinil with US domestic shipping?
We didn't find a domestic US listing for Armodavinil at Afinil when we checked. Waklert, Artvigil and ArmodaXL do have domestic listings, so those are faster options for US buyers.
How many Armodavinil tablets should I order first?
Start small. A small pack is enough to learn whether armodafinil suits you before spending on a bigger quantity, and it keeps you in personal-use territory.
Does food affect Armodavinil?
Food can delay how quickly armodafinil kicks in, per the Nuvigil label, though it doesn't change the total amount absorbed much. A light breakfast is a good middle ground.
Is Armodavinil good for shift work?
Armodafinil is approved for shift work disorder sleepiness at 150 mg about an hour before the shift. Whether it suits you, and which brand, is a question for your doctor.
